Academic Branches

DIET’s has seven branches Viz

1. PSTE (Pre-service Teacher Education):

This branch has 8 Lecturer (Subject wise) headed by one Sr. Lecturer. The main function of this branch is to impart training among the newly admitted fresh candidates who are going to be teacher in future.

2.WE (Work Experience Branch):

The strength of this branch is one Sr. Lecturer, one Lecturer and one work Education Teacher. The main function of this branch is:-

1. To identify locally relevant WE areas
2. To help educational authorities and elementary school etc.
3. To organize activities for Cleanliness upkeep and developmental of the Institute campus, road, Play ground campus, gardens etc.

3.DRU (District Resource Unit):

The strength of this branch is four Lecturers & one Sr. Lecturer. The main function of this branch is to assist educational authorities in planning and Co-ordination of training programmes for AE/NFE, personal throughout the District and to provide necessary support to such programmes organized outside the DIET.

4. IFIC (In Service Programmes, Field Interaction and Innovative Co-ordination):

The strength of this branch is one Lecturer & one Sr. Lecturer. The main function of this branch are-

1. Identify training needs of teachers and prepare perspective plan for meeting such needs
2. Pre-pare annual calendar of all programmes to be held in the DIET
3. Help concerned authorities in preparing an annual calendar of in service programmes to be held outside the DIET.

5.CMDE (Curriculum Materials Development and Evaluation):

This branch consists of one Lecturer and one Sr. Lecturer. The main function of this branch is to adopt existing intense and develop new items of following kinds so that they suit local circumstances and can be used in elementary education and elementary teacher education programmes.

6.ET (Educational Technology)

This branch has one Lecturer and one Sr. Lecturer. The main function of this branch is to develop in collaboration with concerned staff of the DIET and other resource person’s simple effective and low cost teaching aids for various areas relevant to elementary education and elementary teacher education-Charts, diagrams, models, photographs, slides, audio tapes, play scripts, song etc.

7.PM (Planning and Management)

The strength of this branch is one Sr. Lecturer and one Lecturer.The main function of this branch are-To maintain an appropriate data- base for the District which may be required for various planning exercise aimed at the UPE/UEE/NLM goals and for monitoring progress towards these.
